There is no question that server virtualization (especially VMware) is driving an increase in networked storage. However, for the most part, server administrators (or server virtualization administrators) are not experts in storage systems (and even fewer are experts in virtualized networked storage systems).
Xiotech has released its Virtual View solution that automates the provisioning, reporting, and management of storage for VMware environments. This solution takes the pressure off server administrators when they need to align server and storage resources in the increasingly virtualized world. To that end, one must give kudos to Xiotech for taking the initiative.
